The almost annual Euroaway came in May, and once again we found the hosts were excellent. FC Winti have a nice little ground, with a leftwing support in a pleasant town. They even kept the beer prices low for us. Despite not everyone being able to make it, a few of us made our way down via Munich, a few via Zurich. We met up for the day in the local park before walking to the ground.
At the beginning of the first half we let off a couple of smokes behind a banner reading “Im a rambler, from Manchester way…”. The FC Winti fans outdid us though which two good choreos at the beginning of each half. On the pitch, they also ran out 4-1 winners. As the second half wore on, we walked around to the home end, dished out a few FCUM fishermans hats and joined in with their singing. The evening was wrapped up with a party in the ground, thanks to Tumult Winterthur and their VW camper complete with turntables.
If you are in the area, FC Winti is definitely worth a visit.
